KUNSOOT WELLNESS PROJECT LOGO CONTEST
Kunsoot vision statement “Our vision for the Kunsoot Wellness Centre is an inclusive, accessible, and safe space for land-based healing and learning. It is purpose-built to promote Heiltsuk wellness. In the face of trauma and crisis, it is a beacon of resilience. Its aim is to draw out the individual and collective strength of our people in an environment of comfort and support – steeped in culture and surrounded by nature.”
Purpose of the contest This is a community project focused on Heiltsuk wellness. We would like to have a logo that is emblematic of Heiltsuk cultural strength and identity. The winning design will be adopted as the logo for the Kunsoot Wellness Society and associated wellness centre.
Submission guidelines 1. Submissions MUST be the original work of the artist making the submission.
2. Submissions may be black & white or colour. Bear in mind that an impactful logo is usually simple. Elements of the design should be discernible when reproduced in smaller sizes, such as letterhead.
3. Submissions may be any medium, including digital. The winning design will be digitized at our expense.
4. Submissions are invited from artists who have Heiltsuk ancestry.
Submission deadline We invite submissions until 4 PM on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. They can be submitted digitally to email@example.com, or delivered in person to Jess Housty at the library. Please include a brief writeup (no more than one paragraph) verifying your Heiltsuk ancestry and explaining how your submission reflects the Kunsoot vision statement.
Judging All submissions will be judged by a public vote at a Kunsoot Wellness Project community engagement session.
Copyright Kunsoot Wellness Society will acquire exclusive ownership of the winning logo by assignment of copyright. By submitting a design to the contest, the artist acknowledges that they are the creator and rightful owner of the design. The artist also certifies that to the best of their knowledge, their submission does not infringe upon any rights or copyright of any third parties.
Prize The artist who submits the winning logo design will receive $1,000. The Kunsoot Wellness Society board of directors may also select up to 2 other submissions to negotiate non-exclusive use by the Kunsoot Wellness Project in its communications and engagement materials.
